After about 7 hours of not being able to do ANYTHING and having NO explanation of the situation, or ANY communications from Facebook (even though I emailed them), my account is simply "back".
All the info and photos, etc which I watched incrementally deleting throughout the early morning, and disappear entirely by 9 am, are all there and fine.
Is it coincidental that this happened after I sent the above story to numerous communications and technology professionals and publications across the country? Or maybe there are actual people at Facebook offices who watch out for enraged users and quietly fix things under the radar. I suggest giving them a damned phone and making them answer it - at least for paid advertisers.
In any case, losing access to one's Paid account at any online service, especially one which stores credit card information and autocharges it daily, with absolutely no explanation or advance notice, and no means of communication when inquiries arise is entirely unacceptable.
While I appreciate and use many aspects of Facebook's services, it's critical that they realize they are not excused from servicing - at the very least - their paying customers.
Social media is about people, after all ... right?
